Back to School, for No One

Every September I want to buy a notebook and become a different person. The urge is twenty years out of school and going strong, and it always takes the form of wanting to buy the organisation rather than do it.

A Fallow Stretch

Nothing has happened for about three weeks and I've decided to leave it that way. A fallow field isn't a failed one, and I'm trying to believe the same about a flat patch of a life.

Other People's Fireworks

The Fourth was loud the way it's loud every year, and I spent it indoors with a cat convinced the world was ending. I stayed home on purpose, and I'm trying to be honest about the smugness in that.
